My name is Bryan Guidry and I am the owner of North Broadway Jiu Jitsu in St. Louis. I'm a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and won the 2010 World Championships in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to my extensive Jiu Jitsu accomplishments, I have experience as an MMA fighter, college wrestler, amateur boxer, and Judo player.
I was undefeated in 8 MMA fights, including a fight that required complete facial reconstruction. I graduated from Missouri University of Science and Technology with a degree in chemical engineering, and worked several years in engineering before dedicating myself full-time to Jiu Jitsu and fitness. I began training in 1984 with Korean grandmaster Bong-Yul Shin. Since 1998, I have trained under Rodrigo Vaghi, a 6th degree Black Belt world champion under Rickson Gracie.
In 2006, I started North Broadway Jiu Jitsu in an abandoned warehouse next to Shady Jack's biker bar, just north of the Arch. I also work with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department SWAT team on defensive tactics, and served as conditioning coach for the St. Louis Community College Wrestling Team (2007–2009).
